By registering you consent to PencilStreet sending admin emails to confirm and verify your email address.
What We Collect
- Your e-mail address, a chosen Username and password, Your IP address or other device identification may occasionally be captured. Other personal and demographic information may be provided to us or shared with us by programs such as Google Analytics.
We use the information you provide for the following:
- Record keeping
- To improve services
- To fit our advertising to your needs and interests
- To contact you about any of the following: news, resources, information you may find of use or interest and to discuss any issue you may have raised.
We do not pass on any of your personal information, unless you have given us your consent to do so, or we are required to by law or If the occasion arises when a user’s safety or welfare is at risk, it may be necessary to contact the relevant authorities in regard to the behaviour of a specific PencilStreet member.
Controlling Your Personal Information
You can edit or restrict the use of your personal information though your profilesettings.
You may ask us to provide details of the personal information we hold about you, under the Data Protection Act 1998. To request this information, or to correct any information that we may have about you, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org
All the information we hold is stored extremely securely and is only retained for as long as it is needed to perform its function. Any breach of information will be notified to you immediately upon discovery. By requesting to 'delete your sccount' all data we hold will be entirely deleted permenatly.
Through technologies such as cookies, clicktags, beacons and other data collection methods, anonymous information can be passively collected through the use of our site. Your browser automatically sends us, PencilStreet, some of this information, including the URL of the site you just came from, your computers current browser and IP address and your rough geographical location. All information is anonymous and used for internal, operational purposes only.
Pencil Street contains some affiliate marketing links. This means that we earn commission on any sales of products purchased via links from our site. Our editorial content is in no way influenced by these, or any other, affiliate partnerships.

3. Submissions to PencilStreet
We encourage users to submit User Content. This includes text(worksheets, lesson plans, guest blogs), files, imagery, comments, audio, video, information and/or other materials.
We have the right to publish, edit or reject any User Content sent to us for any purpose. We are not obliged to provide payment to you unless an agreement has been made, in writing, prior to the content’s submission.
When you submit User Content to us, you automatically grant us the full rights to that content, and licence to use it in any way. We may record, sell, reproduce distribute, create work based on, publicly display, share, publish and otherwise utilise the User Content as Pencil Street, in any way that may be deemed appropriate. These rules apply for all distribution channels and technologies currently available, and any that may be available in future.
You agree that you will not submit any User Content protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, moral right, other intellectual property or any other right owned by a third party, without the permission of the owner of the respective right. If you fail to secure such permission, then you are solely liable for any damage, harm or fine that may result from User Content that you have submitted.
You agree not to share any content that:
- Violates the rights of others in any way, including, copyright, trademark, moral right, or other third-party rights of any person or entity;
- Is unlawful, threatening, abusive, invasive, or objectionable in any way;
- Contains any information that might lead to harm or injury,
- Would result in Pencil Street having and obligation or liability to any party.
- You agree not to post any affiliate links without prior arrangement with, and permission of, PencilStreet.
We take no responsibility for any User Content that is incorrect or inaccurate. We also reserve the right to use your User Content for and advertising or promotional purpose, and to display advertisements in connection with your User Content.
