Here at PencilStreet, our mission is simple: to provide teachers with a community-style sharing environment, which can be used to discover and download resources for the classroom and to connect and share ideas, experiences and knowledge with other teachers.
Initially founded in 2009 to provide teaching resources for primary school teachers, PencilStreet now boasts more than 65,0001 users worldwide, 75% of which are in the UK.
After listening to feedback from our users, in 2018, we decided to move away from our fee-based subscription model and make full access to our site completely free of charge. We also redesigned our site, so that as well as downloading our teaching worksheets and other resources, teachers are now able to share their own resources, write blogs and chat about their ideas with other teachers.
Nurturing our unique community that enables teachers to connect with their colleagues worldwide in order to share these experiences, resources and anything else that may be useful to others, is at the heart of what we do at PencilStreet.
Engagement with teachers who are utilising our website is a key element of this and we encourage users to inform us if they think we are missing any sites or resources that we should, in fact, be featuring.
